Thesleff Group is looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our growing operations team and help maintain some of London's most exciting hospitality venues.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Assistant who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Working across our portfolio of award-winning restaurants and bars, you will play a vital role in ensuring our venues remain safe, operational, and presented to the highest possible standard.

The Role
As Maintenance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day maintenance of our venues across London, carrying out reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and general upkeep to ensure our restaurants continue to operate at the highest standards.
Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and Director of Operations, the Maintenance Assistant will support venue teams, coordinate with contractors where required, and contribute to refurbishment projects and new site openings.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance across multiple venues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from restaurant teams
- Diagnose and resolve general maintenance issues efficiently
- Complete basic electrical, plumbing, decorating and repair work
- Assist with small refurbishment and improvement projects
- Liaise with external contractors and monitor completed works
- Maintain maintenance records and report significant issues
- Ensure tools, equipment and maintenance supplies are well maintained
- Support furniture, fixtures and equipment repairs
- Assist with venue openings, installations and operational projects
- Help maintain a safe, clean and professional working environment at all times
About You
The ideal Maintenance Assistant will have:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or handyman role
- Experience within hospitality, retail or another customer-facing environment is highly desirable
- A good understanding of basic electrical, plumbing and building maintenance
- Excellent practical problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
